One short Bible reading each day can help you pause, pray, and think about how to live. This seven-day plan gives you a passage for each day of the week. You can start on any day and repeat the plan whenever you want.
About this page: These readings are selected in advance. This is a seven-day devotional guide, not an automatically changing daily-verse service. The Bible excerpts use the King James Version (KJV); read the full passages in your preferred translation for more context.
Monday — God Is Our Refuge (Psalm 46:1)
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1 (KJV)
This psalm reminds God’s people that they can turn to Him when trouble comes. Start the week by naming one concern and asking for courage to deal with it.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You and face this week’s responsibilities wisely.
Tuesday — Trust God (Proverbs 3:5)
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (KJV)
This proverb encourages trust and humility. Trusting God does not mean refusing to think or seek advice. It means admitting that our understanding is limited.
Prayer: Father, guide my decisions and help me learn from wise counsel.
Wednesday — Bring Your Burdens to Jesus (Matthew 11:28)
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
Jesus invites tired and burdened people to come to Him. Read Matthew 11:28–30 to see how He describes His gentle care.
Prayer: Jesus, give me peace and strength for what I must carry today.
Thursday — Ask for Wisdom (James 1:5)
James 1:5 encourages people who lack wisdom to ask God for it. Read James 1:2–8 to understand why wisdom matters during difficult seasons.
Prayer: Lord, help me make fair and thoughtful choices today.
Friday — Seek God’s Peace (Philippians 4:6–7)
Paul encourages Christians to pray instead of letting anxiety rule every decision. The passage points to God’s peace even when a problem has not yet disappeared.
Prayer: Father, give me peace, and show me what I can do about my worries.
Saturday — Act with Kindness (Micah 6:8)
The prophet Micah speaks about justice, mercy, and walking humbly with God. Choose one small act of kindness that you can do for someone today.
Prayer: God, help me treat people fairly and show mercy where I can.
Sunday — Remember God’s Care (Psalm 23:1)
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” — Psalm 23:1 (KJV)
Psalm 23 uses the picture of a shepherd to describe God’s care. Read all six verses and reflect on His guidance and presence.
Prayer: Shepherd of my life, thank You for guiding me through another week.
